The concept Urbanears is spawned out of a number of ideas. Some that helped us form the project but just as many that came along the way. Primarily, there seemed to be no manufacturer of headphones out there that really shared our belief in what headphones are and how they are typically used. We wanted to produce headphones with a profound understanding of how they are utilized and why. We call this design and in our world design is the transformation of functionality to the human being.

Professor Hiroyuki Yokoyama of the New Industry Creation Hatchery Center (NICHe), Tohoku University (hereafter, ‘Tohoku University’), and Advanced Materials Laboratories, Sony Corporation (hereafter, ‘Sony’), have succeeded in jointly developing a blue-violet ultrafast pulsed semiconductor laser*2 with dramatically improved peak laser beam output levels that are 100 times that of the world’s current highest levels.

Fresh Fruit Parfait with Lemon-Poppy Seed Yogurt _______________________ Ingredients 2 (organic*) peaches, pitted, quartered, diced 2 kiwi, peeled, quartered and sliced 1 cup blueberries 1 lemon (fresh*), juiced, plus zest for garnish 1 tablespoon sugar (or honey crystals*) 2 cups lowfat plain (organic*) yogurt 1 tablespoon poppy seeds Mint sprigs, for garnish __________________ Directions In a medium bowl place cut fruit, blueberries, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon sugar. Mix well and macerate for about 10 to 15 minutes. This will allow fruit to be infused with lemon juice and sugar. Meanwhile in a small bowl stir 2 cups of lowfat yogurt and poppy seeds. In clear glasses, layer the ingredients starting with the fruit mixture then next layer with yogurt, then fruit, then yogurt. Repeat these steps until you have filled the glasses.
